emergency rescue needed 2005-02-07 - By Sonja `ehovi
If you have no other solution and can sacrifice some of the corruptede = data, you can do:
startup restrict mount; ALTER DATABASE DATAFILE '/u05/oradata/bla/bla.dbf' OFFLINE drop;

I had/have a test DB where a number of files got corrupted. I just HAVE be able to open this DB. I am willing to sacrafice the data in the corrupted files. What are the steps to do so? It is something along the lines of STARTUP NOMOUNT ALTER TABLESPACE ???? OFFLINE; DROP TABLESPACE ?????; STARTUP MOUNT; ALTER DATABASE OPEN;
I've just looked in Metalink & did not find where this procedure is = documented. -- http://www.freelists.org/webpage/oracle-l -- http://www.freelists.org/webpage/oracle-l
